This is an intensive mentorship for novelists that will help you finish your book, significantly improve your craft and/or rewriting skills, and transform your writing life.

This mentorship is perfect for:

  • the short story writer beginning (or finishing) their first novel

  • the budding novelist looking for instruction, encouragement, and accountability

  • the intermediate novelist on submission wondering why they aren’t getting any requests or why their requests aren’t going anywhere

  • the indie author who wants better reviews, more book sales, and loyal readers

  • the advanced novelist in need of structure, strategy, and professional feedback during a major rewrite

Experience level: intermediate to advanced

You don’t need a complete draft to begin, but the more you have written, the more you’ll benefit from Loom. The pacing is FAST, and you must have a consistent writing practice. (If you’re a brand new writer and you’re starting with a novel, book a call and ask me about Loom Lite, my book mentorship for beginners or those who write more slowly.)

You must be willing and able to work steadily so that you can get the most out of our time together. Six months seems like a long time, but if you have a very busy life, finding time for intense work can be challenging. We will work on all things story development: setting, character arcs, plot, scene and sequel, conflict, tension, black moment, and resolution.

What is this program like?

The first month, you’ll send me whatever you've got, up to your entire draft (capped at 120,000 words), and we’ll schedule a Creative Vision Call to discuss the scope and your vision of the project. (Side note: if your draft is longer than 120,000 words, a significant amount of our work together will be cutting, condensing, and streamlining. Most publishing professionals won’t look at anything longer). After we talk, I’ll read your draft and get back to you with a manuscript evaluation. From there, we’ll come up with a reasonable goal and plan for our work together, and I’ll provide structure as you execute that plan. Please know you may not have a final draft when we’re finished working together. It depends on too many variables that I can’t control. But I will work hard for you. I will meet you where you’re at. If you’re ready to seize this opportunity, you’ll leave our time together a more confident writer, knowing what you do well, what your trouble spots are, and feeling good about where your book is going.

This mentorship includes lots of personal coaching, which is a great way to tackle mindset challenges like feeling small or stuck, fear of being judged, fear of failure (or success!), and perfectionism. We can talk about your submissions and/or marketing strategies when you’re nearing that stage. You can exchange coaching sessions for distance Reiki healing, which is great for clearing stagnant energy and raising your vibration. And yes, we can talk about magic, law of attraction, all of the really juicy stuff.

Each month you’ll send me the pages we’ve talked about and exploratory writing challenges you’ve accepted to help you develop characters or other elements of story. Examples of exploratory writing: chapter summaries, character sketches, deep point of view character history, flashback fiction, vision boards. These are things that don’t go into the book but help you nail your plot and character arcs. Exploratory writing can be fun AND strengthen your fiction.

Each month, you’ll receive:

*a detailed written evaluation of what I see as strengths and opportunities for improvement of the pages you submitted to me that month
*suggested reading and/or exploratory writing challenges
*a one-hour writing strategy call
*a one-hour empowerment coaching call
*email access to me for check-ins, questions, or follow-up on our calls
*additional coaching calls or distance Reiki sessions are available at a VIP rate for existing clients

Ready to build a writing practice centered on your values and the life you want to live?

to book or fmi, schedule a free call with me.

What to expect from a Discovery Call: This is a free 25-minute call to make sure we click. We’ll discuss your project, what your goals are, and you can ask any questions you have. If you want to move forward, I’ll ask for a short writing sample and give you a FREE critique. This helps us make sure the mentorship is a good fit. I can also let you know what kind of progress I think we can make. No surprises and no high pressure sales. I want to make sure you’re all in when we start working together.
