Fiction Mentorships

I offer fiction mentorships that are designed to nurture and transform the writer as a whole.

I work with writers of all levels:

  • brand new writers

  • writers emerging into the revision or submissions process

  • writers who already hold degrees in creative writing ( I know your challenges intimately!)

  • published authors seeking to take their craft to the next level

Whether you are on the indie publishing path or the traditional publishing path, I respect your choice. If you’re torn about going one way or another, I can help you get clear on what you really want and make that choice from a place of personal power. No single path is for everyone at every moment.

Through a combination of 1:1 instruction, developmental editing, and personal coaching, I’ll help you elevate your craft and navigate the blocks keeping you from reaching your potential. My mission is for you to take our time together and carry it with you long after we’re done working together. Writers I’ve worked with have signed with agents, sold books, and gotten into their top choice MFA programs. I want to help you manifest your writing and life goals, too.

genres I’m interested in

My MFA concentration is in Popular Fiction. I am comfortable with a variety of high-concept and genre fiction. Commercial fiction that has a literary flavor is my personal favorite. I’m particularly interested in Young Adult, Romance, Women’s Fiction, Contemporary, Dark Fantasy, Paranormal, and some Horror and Psychological Thrillers.

Types of mentorships I offer

Spindle Storycraft Mentorship is designed for writers of ANY level who want to develop and refine their basic storytelling skills and craft techniques. I highly recommend this mentorship for writers who are starting a new novel and want a set of eyes on their early pages. It’s also useful to writers who want some feedback each month, but who don’t have a critique partner. Each month, you’ll submit a packet of writing for critique and we’ll follow up with a personal coaching session to talk about any creative writing or lifestyle challenges you’re dealing with.

Loom Book Mentorship is for the emerging or seasoned author who is committed to writing as a career. An established writing practice and complete manuscript are a must. This is an intense mentorship that will help you learn to revise and submit revisions on deadline. I also include two monthly personal coaching sessions to overcome imposter syndrome, turn fear into creative fuel, and gain greater clarity into what you REALLY want from your writing life. I take your goals and writing challenges very seriously, and I want to help you develop a lifestyle that supports your writing. If I have a signature coaching offer, this is it!

Loom Lite Book Mentorship is a mid-level mentorship that I recommend for writers who feel drawn to Loom, but who write more slowly or have a significant barrier to going “all in.” The goal of this mentorship is to make time for writing, make significant progress on your novel, and overcome those challenges to creativity and self-expression that we all face from time to time. If you are a working parent with an established writing practice, this is a great option for you.
